Benefit Systems has over 1.8 million sports card users in Poland and abroad

At the end of the second quarter sports cards offered by the Benefit Systems Group were used by 1,800,300 people, of which over 1.3 million in Poland. The company observes a consistently high interest of employers and employees in the sports offer on all markets where it operates.

In the second quarter the number of sports card users in Poland increased by more than 20,000 and in the entire first half of 2023 – by nearly 143,000. At the end of June, the total number of people using cards offered by the Benefit Systems Group exceeded 1.3 million.

The Group also recorded very good sales results on foreign markets. In the second quarter of this year the number of MultiSport card holders increased to 470,500. Companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia maintain very good sales dynamics. On the Turkish market activities related to the development of the partner facilities’ offer in Istanbul and the promotion of sports cards among employers are continued.

Since last year, the activity of users has been relatively high, both in the Group’s own clubs and in its partner facilities. Despite this, compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary estimates, the average revenue per user (ARPU) of sports cards at the group level increased by a dozen or so percent.

– The positive trends in physical activity and healthy lifestyle that supported us in the previous quarters continue. Therefore, we maintain our expectations regarding the increase in volumes this year, meaning a growth in the number of cards by 280,000–300,000. Since the beginning of the year, we have been implementing a new programme for users in Poland called “Design Your Shape” in which we have provided ready-made plans to improve one’s health and quality of life. In addition, since June, to keep the churn low, we are implementing the next edition of the MultiSport Summer Game the mechanism of which is based on gamification and encourages MultiSport card holders to be active in sports facilities – comments Bartosz Józefiak, Management Board Member at Benefit Systems.

The current report on the number of sports cards at the end of Q2 2023 in Poland and abroad is available at https://www.benefitsystems.pl/en/for-investors/reports/.

From gyms to wellness centres: how fitness clubs in Kraków have changed over the years.
In the past, the gym was primarily associated with barbells and weights. The offering was simple, and the space was dedicated primarily to strength training. Today, a fitness club is much more than that: you can practise Reformer Pilates, train for HYROX competitions, access physiotherapy services, use the sauna, or unwind after work in the recovery zone. Increasingly, you don’t have to be an avid athlete to feel at ease in such a place.

Will new pay transparency regulations consign classic spreadsheets to the dustbin of history? HR needs a new data architecture.
Implementing the pay transparency directive is not merely a legal and organisational challenge for HR teams. It is also a test of companies’ technological maturity. Employers will evaluate positions, assign employees to appropriate pay levels, analyse the pay gap, and prepare salary information taking all variables into account. In practice, this may entail working with large volumes of sensitive data, where relying solely on spreadsheets for processing can become less efficient and more prone to errors.
