One in ten women over 40 admits that she has given up physical activity for fear of comments about her body. For many women, the barrier to exercise is not always a lack of time or motivation, but the fear of being judged. And even if it is subtle, it can effectively discourage some women from training.

A spontaneous approach to exercise is no longer just a passing trend. It has become the result of a lasting lifestyle change. More and more people are fitting physical activity into their day rather than planning it in advance – as many as 63% of those who exercise choose their training times spontaneously. In practice, this means that exercise begins to function as a flexible part of everyday life that can be “slotted in” at any time. Accessibility is becoming increasingly important: for 85% of fitness club members, being able to use the gym at any time of the day or night is essential.

Benefit Systems expands its fitness portfolio with the Subcarpathian Fitness for Life network.

The Fitness for Life network has been offering its services and training space to MultiSport Programme users for many years, and its clubs are very popular among sports card holders in Rzeszów and the surrounding area. It is Benefit Systems second acquisition in southeastern Poland (after the Endorfina network), in locations important for users of sports cards offered by the group. Fitness For Life is one of the largest fitness club networks in the Subcarpathian region with nine clubs in Rzeszów and two in Nowy Sącz. The total area of the clubs is over 15,000 square meters. The network offers extensive training areas, a wide selection of fitness classes, relaxation areas (including saunas and massages), and a squash court. Benefit Systems has been increasing its involvement in the fitness industry in the region for over a dozen years. At the end of the third quarter, the group had nearly five hundred fitness clubs in all the markets in which it operates. In Poland, Benefit Systems manages 290 fitness clubs and successfully opens new facilities, thus increasing access to sports infrastructure in various parts of the country.

According to a survey commissioned by Benefit Systems, one in five people in Poland experiences stress every day or almost every day. In the realities of a constantly accelerating world, practices that support mental balance are becoming a particularly desirable good. We also seek relaxation in nearby fitness clubs, where the latest trend is meditation and relaxation training.

The symbol of prosperity for the lucky ones in the Polish People’s Republic is changing its purpose. In place of the iconic Sezam, a modern space for activity, relaxation and spending time together has been created.

It was once a showcase of modern commerce. Today, the place where the Sezam Department Store operated for years – where people shopped, admired modern interiors and used the then-rarely available escalators – is changing its character. The very heart of the city as well as the purpose of many iconic places is also transforming along with the way we move around and spend our free time. Nowadays, more often than for shopping, Warsaw residents come to the city centre to work or look for places to spend time together, be active and relax. In line with the changing needs of the capital’s residents, a modern fitness club was established in place of the legendary Sezam.
