They will run to help those in need. Corporate Run: Remote Edition this Saturday

Helping children with disabilities, employee integration and sports activities are the three pillars of the annual Corporate Run. On August 29, 2020, thousands of employees from several hundred companies will jointly run a 5-kilometre route from anywhere in the world. All they need is a mobile application and access to GPS because this year the event will be virtual. Benefit Systems is once again the main partner of the Corporate Run.

The idea of the Corporate Run is to promote healthy competition and physical activity among employees of both small companies and international corporations as well as the willingness to help children in greatest need. This year the event will be virtual, and thanks to a special mobile application, participants from all over the world will be able to run safely for the common goal of helping children who require expensive treatment and rehabilitation. Companies can submit any number of teams participating in the competition. There are teams of five and each competitor has five kilometres to run. And as it turns out, Poles like to run. The MultiSport Index Pandemic survey conducted in April this year shows that even during the epidemic 27% of active inhabitants of Poland were running. Among employees, the passion for jogging is even greater – this discipline was chosen by as many as 31% of them. The group of runners who take part in organised running competitions increases every year. In 2018, 25% of runners stood on the starting line and a year later 37% of them took part in the running events. (MultiSport Index). The number of participants in the Corporate Run is also systematically growing. In the first edition there were 1,700 employees participating while last year their number increased to 9,350. Once again Benefit Systems employees will also take part in the run. The MultiSport Programme coaches helped other participants prepare for the start by conducting, among others, running training.

– At Benefit Systems, our mission is to motivate Poles to undertake regular physical activity. We believe that sport has a positive impact on our health and quality of life. This year we once again have become a partner of the Corporate Run, which supports the beneficiaries of this initiative through positive emotions and sports competition between employees of companies from all over the country. I am convinced that also in this year's edition of the Corporate Run, the participants, including a strong representation from our company, will give their best – explains Adam Radzki, Management Board Member at Benefit Systems.

This is already the 8th edition of the Corporate Run with a charitable goal. This year's income from the relay race will be donated to 12 children under the care of the Everest Foundation. Since 2013, thanks to the involvement of 47,000 participants from over thousand companies, the organisers managed to collect over PLN 800,000 for those in need.

From gyms to wellness centres: how fitness clubs in Kraków have changed over the years.
In the past, the gym was primarily associated with barbells and weights. The offering was simple, and the space was dedicated primarily to strength training. Today, a fitness club is much more than that: you can practise Reformer Pilates, train for HYROX competitions, access physiotherapy services, use the sauna, or unwind after work in the recovery zone. Increasingly, you don’t have to be an avid athlete to feel at ease in such a place.

Will new pay transparency regulations consign classic spreadsheets to the dustbin of history? HR needs a new data architecture.
Implementing the pay transparency directive is not merely a legal and organisational challenge for HR teams. It is also a test of companies’ technological maturity. Employers will evaluate positions, assign employees to appropriate pay levels, analyse the pay gap, and prepare salary information taking all variables into account. In practice, this may entail working with large volumes of sensitive data, where relying solely on spreadsheets for processing can become less efficient and more prone to errors.
