Total Fitness joins the Benefit Systems Group

Thanks to the capital investment in the Total Fitness network, which operates 14 modern sports facilities, the Benefit Systems Group strengthens the MultiSport Programme and continues the strategy of expanding its offer with various high-quality sports and recreational services.

Benefit Systems has concluded an agreement to acquire 88% of shares in Total Fitness Sp. z o.o., which currently operates 14 sports facilities in and around Warsaw (10 clubs), Gdańsk (3 clubs) and Radom (1 club). Total Fitness has been cooperating with Benefit Systems for many years as part of the MultiSport Programme. As emphasised by Bartosz Józefiak, Management Board Member at Benefit Systems, the long-term cooperation based on trust has provided significant arguments supporting the decision to invest. – The long-term approach to the development of our offer is based, among others, on trends related to health, conscious lifestyle, and prevention of diseases of affluence. We have been analysing and initiating changes taking place on the Polish market and educating the society in the field of an active lifestyle for many years. We are also consistently developing our own offer of sports and recreational services to provide the growing number of MultiSport card users with optimal sports infrastructure meeting the needs of employers and employees. We are glad that Total Fitness, our long-term and proven partner, becomes part of the Benefit Systems Group as it complements and strengthens our fitness club portfolio perfectly. Total Fitness is a profitable, well-run business with healthy foundations. That is why I am convinced that the knowledge and experience of the managers and teams of 14 clubs that belong to the network will provide us with additional support in the further development of sports services adapted to the health needs and changing lifestyle of Poles – explains Bartosz Józefiak.

The first Total Fitness club was established in 2011 in Ursynów (Warsaw). For a decade, the company has been expanding its offer with new facilities, implementing an effective sales and customer service strategy. Currently, the network has 14 fitness clubs with a total area of approximately 20,000 square meters located mainly in service buildings with a large exposure to housing estates. The undoubted advantage of Total Fitness clubs is also a variety of group classes as well as functional and personal workouts under the watchful eye of experienced coaching staff.

– Joining the Benefit Systems Group is an important event for us and an opportunity to further develop the offer of Total Fitness clubs together with a strong and reliable partner as well as contribute to the improvement of the psychophysical condition of Poles and the development of the fitness industry. We have been trying to operate outside the usual pattern for many years, providing our customers with the best experience related to engaging in physical activity and sports. Our clubs stand for positive emotions, professional support from trainers and instructors, modern exercise equipment as well as sales and customer service policy that are refined in every detail. Thanks to this, our clubs are very popular among the residents of the surrounding estates, especially in the age group over 30. This group is dominated by women who, compared to the population, are distinguished by high purchasing power and sensitivity to trends in a healthy and active lifestyle. Another target group worth mentioning are customers representing Silver Tsunami for whom we have been developing our offer for years – says Aleksander Wilewski, co-founder of Total Fitness.

Along with the acquisition of 88% of shares in Total Fitness Sp. z o.o., Benefit Systems will carry out tasks and develop the company in accordance with the strategy of the Benefit Systems Capital Group. The total value of the investment will not be less than PLN 75 million and not more than PLN 85 million. The transaction will be finalised by 1 April 2024 at the latest. Ultimately, Benefit Systems plans to acquire 100% of shares in Total Fitness Sp. z o.o.Additional information can be found in the current report (41/2021), which is available in the For Investors section at www.benefitsystems.pl

From gyms to wellness centres: how fitness clubs in Kraków have changed over the years.
In the past, the gym was primarily associated with barbells and weights. The offering was simple, and the space was dedicated primarily to strength training. Today, a fitness club is much more than that: you can practise Reformer Pilates, train for HYROX competitions, access physiotherapy services, use the sauna, or unwind after work in the recovery zone. Increasingly, you don’t have to be an avid athlete to feel at ease in such a place.

Will new pay transparency regulations consign classic spreadsheets to the dustbin of history? HR needs a new data architecture.
Implementing the pay transparency directive is not merely a legal and organisational challenge for HR teams. It is also a test of companies’ technological maturity. Employers will evaluate positions, assign employees to appropriate pay levels, analyse the pay gap, and prepare salary information taking all variables into account. In practice, this may entail working with large volumes of sensitive data, where relying solely on spreadsheets for processing can become less efficient and more prone to errors.
