Zdrofit becomes a partner of the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation runs

The largest club network in Poland has become the exclusive Fitness Partner of running events organised by the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation: Ekiden – Marathon Relay on 20 May 2023 and the 45th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon scheduled for 24 September 2023. Both runs take place in Warsaw.

Zdrofit supports Poles in engaging in physical activity to take care of their fitness, health and body shape as well as mental wellbeing and a good quality of life. A team of Zdrofit trainers will conduct a warm-up before the Ekiden – Marathon Relay, preparing the runners for a safe start and encouraging them to participate in a healthy competition and have great fun.

– Zdrofit joining mass running events organised by the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation is another opportunity to promote physical activity which makes people have a completely different energy. We want to inspire both those who are very aware of sport and everyone who is just starting their adventure with exercise. That is why we encourage Poles to train at their own pace, as they want and like, adjusting activities to their own abilities. Compared to the countries of Western Europe and the very active north of the continent, there are still too few people in our country practising physical activity, which translates into a growing percentage of the population burdened with obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and mental health problems. We are glad that Zdrofit will support important events for running enthusiasts who can train in our clubs
- says Daniel Biegaj, Marketing and E-commerce Director managing the marketing of fitness clubs belonging to Benefit Systems.

The Zdrofit fitness network consists of 84 clubs in Warsaw and the surrounding area, Tricity, Szczecin, Kielce and Włocławek. The facilities feature the highest quality equipment to ensure the safety of exercises. The clubs have cardio, free weights, cross training, and wellness zones.

Zdrofit is distinguished by the largest database of group fitness classes – almost one hundred of them – which allow people to adjust training to various needs, from workouts for beginners, through dancing and health-promoting ones, such as Pilates and Healthy Spine, to intensive and metabolism-boosting interval training and cycling classes, which are very popular.

– The amateur world of sports must provide support and strive to popularise activity. Any activity is good, and it is its diversity that affects our overall development – both physical and mental. Zdrofit fitness clubs are certainly a place known to runners and I am glad that we are joining forces. Running is supposed to be healthy, full of passion but also wise – and for that one often needs to work out not only “in the field.” We believe that through constant work and joint actions we will promote sport and a healthy lifestyle and that an increasing part of our society will be active. A sound mind in a sound body! – says Marek Tronina, director of the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation.

The “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation was established in 2003. Its main mission is to popularise running in Poland, to support both professional and amateur runners, and to improve organisational standards of running events. The Foundation organises such runs as Warsaw Marathon, Warsaw Half Marathon and EKIDEN. It is also a co-organiser of the largest cycle of running events in Poland – the Warsaw Running Triad.

Costly 147.7 million days in six months. More physical activity would help the economy save billions.
According to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) data, in the first half of 2026, Poles spent nearly 150 million days on sick leave – the result similar to that of the corresponding period last year. Lifestyle diseases, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension, are common causes of absenteeism. Surveys show that the incidence of illness and, consequently, the number of days spent on sick leave, could drop significantly if we, as a society, engaged in regular physical activity. Analyses conducted on behalf of Benefit Systems show that physical inactivity is a systemic phenomenon.
