Zdrofit becomes the first fitness club in Poland with a self-service shop

The Zdrofit Bemowo fitness club in Warsaw is the first sports facility in Poland where the Żabka Nano self-service shop has been launched. In this way Zdrofit club customers will be able to buy healthy drinks and snacks on the premises with no cash registers, queues or cash needed. It is a pilot cooperation between the largest fitness club network in Poland and the largest autonomous shops network in Europe.

– When developing the Zdrofit fitness club network we focus on modern infrastructure and innovative solutions, which is why we are glad that Zdrofit is the first sports facility in Poland with Żabka Nano self-service shop. As part of the pilot project, our club in Warsaw's Bemowo district will offer a practical solution that will make it easier for its users to access healthy snacks, drinks, and necessities. I am convinced that our club’s customers will appreciate the new facility, which ensures quick and easy access to the Żabka Nano offer – says Tomasz Groń, Managing Director at Benefit Systems Fitness Unit, the company that owns Zdrofit fitness club network. – When deciding on the cooperation with Żabka Nano the climate neutrality of the shop, which uses only the equivalent of green energy, was an important argument for us. As a company guided by the idea of sustainable development and a member of the B Corp movement, we appreciate such initiatives – adds Tomasz Groń.

The assortment of the Żabka Nano shop available in the Zdrofit fitness club includes about 300 products. Customers can choose from healthy and nutritious snacks, ready meals and beverages that are perfect solution before, during or after training. The offer also includes Żabka’s own products, such as Szamamm ready meals, Tomcio Paluch sandwiches, Foodini liquid snacks, Wycisk juices and lemonades as well as freshly ground filtered coffee. Products from the Maczfit portfolio, a company from the Żabka Group, such as balanced lunches, salads and desserts, which are a healthy and tasty alternative to canteens and fast food restaurants, will also be available.

– Żabka Nano is very flexible, thanks to which we can open new autonomous branches in almost every location. Cooperation with the Zdrofit fitness club network gives us the opportunity to further improve the concept and be even closer to our customers. I believe that sports and active lifestyle enthusiasts will appreciate how quickly and intuitive shopping at Żabka Nano can be with no cash register, no queues or cash needed – says Paweł Grabowski, Unmanned Solutions Director at Żabka Future.

Żabka Nano at the Zdrofit fitness club uses an innovative authorisation and payment method. Access to the facility is possible with the use of a payment card which customers place against the terminal before entering the shop. During the first visit they give their phone number to which they receive a text message with a purchase confirmation. After doing this, the door opens automatically. When customers are inside, shopping will only take them a moment. All they must do is take the selected products from the shelf and leave. The monitoring system installed in the Żabka Nano shop, which uses algorithms and machine learning, will recognise the products removed from the shelves, calculate the appropriate amount, and automatically finalise the transaction using the payment card used when entering the shop. The system does not identify customers and does not remember the image, which guarantees full privacy and security. During the pandemic restrictions only one person will be allowed to stay in the shop.

From gyms to wellness centres: how fitness clubs in Kraków have changed over the years.
In the past, the gym was primarily associated with barbells and weights. The offering was simple, and the space was dedicated primarily to strength training. Today, a fitness club is much more than that: you can practise Reformer Pilates, train for HYROX competitions, access physiotherapy services, use the sauna, or unwind after work in the recovery zone. Increasingly, you don’t have to be an avid athlete to feel at ease in such a place.

Will new pay transparency regulations consign classic spreadsheets to the dustbin of history? HR needs a new data architecture.
Implementing the pay transparency directive is not merely a legal and organisational challenge for HR teams. It is also a test of companies’ technological maturity. Employers will evaluate positions, assign employees to appropriate pay levels, analyse the pay gap, and prepare salary information taking all variables into account. In practice, this may entail working with large volumes of sensitive data, where relying solely on spreadsheets for processing can become less efficient and more prone to errors.
