Every year, the third Monday of January is the most depressing day of the year. Blue Monday is a “holiday” appointed by a British scientist on behalf of a travel agency. Although this phenomenon has dominated social media, no scientific evidence to support its existence has been found yet. Interestingly, research shows that the Blue Monday myth is so popular because all Mondays are usually difficult for us.[1] Up to 65% of surveyed Americans feel anxiety connected with the beginning of the new week on Sunday evening.[2] Why we don’t like Mondays and how can we change it?
