Benefit Systems presents preliminary results for the fourth quarter of 2024: growing profits and record sales of sports cards and passes.

Benefit Systems Group ended 2024 with over 2,164,000 sports cards, which means an increase by 245,000 (13% year-on-year), while the number of passes sold in Poland reached 271,000. In the fourth quarter of this year the group’s initial sales revenues amounted to PLN 913 million (an increase of 20% year-on-year), and operating profit amounted to PLN 183 million (without the impact of the incentive programme; an increase of 14% year-on-year). The year 2025 also started well for the Benefit Systems Group – the estimated number of cards in February was over 2.2 million, which means an increase of 71,000 cards in the first two months (48,000 in Poland and 23,000 on foreign markets). At the end of 2024, the group presented its development strategy for 2025–2027, and at the end of January this year it announced the establishment of a bond programme worth up to PLN 1 billion.

The initial revenues of the Benefit Systems Group increased by 22% in 2024 to PLN 3,394 million, and the initial operating profit (excluding the impact of the incentive programme) amounted to PLN 763 million and was higher by 17% compared to 2023. At the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, Benefit Systems had PLN 153 million of net cash, despite the payment of a record dividend.

Comment on the preliminary financial results of Benefit Systems for the fourth quarter of 2024 by Marcin Fojudzki, Management Board Member at Benefit Systems: We had a good quarter and year, which we ended with results above expectations. Preliminary data show that our strategy guarantees the group dynamic development and growing profits. This year, we expect further improvement in results in all operating segments. We are also working on a bond programme to increase the availability of financing for the development of a network of our own fitness clubs in Poland and other markets. We plan to open dozens of new facilities, including over 45 abroad. We also intend to continue analysing markets in terms of acquisition opportunities.

Poland Segment

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, there were 1,592,000 sports card holders. In the first two months of this year the number of cards increased to 1,641,000 which is an increase of 171,000 year-on-year. The initial revenues of the Poland Segment amounted to PLN 663 million, which is an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2023. EBIT amounted to PLN 174 million and EBITDA was PLN 251 million (an increase of 31% and 24%, respectively, compared to the fourth quarter of 2023).

At the end of last year, the group’s portfolio in Poland included 243 fitness clubs. In total, throughout 2024, the company expanded its network by 25 locations: 15 clubs as part of the acquisition (Active Point (currently Fabryka Formy): 1 club, Good Luck (currently Zdrofit): 4 clubs, Artis: 1 club, Gym World: 1 club, Organic Fitness: 8 clubs) and openings in Warsaw (5 locations), in Kraków (3 locations), two clubs in Katowice and Lublin, and one in Łódź. MultiSport Programme partners currently run over 5,500 sports and recreational facilities throughout the country.

Comment on the results of the Poland Segment by Emilia Rogalewicz, Management Board Member at Benefit Systems: The initial revenues of the Poland Segment were 20% higher in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. The group of sports card users increased by over 168,000 people and at the end of 2024, nearly 1.6 million people used our benefit. This year, we set ourselves a goal to increase the base of sports card users by another 130,000. The MultiSport Programme is a key benefit connected with health prevention and wellbeing for employers and their employees in Poland. Our offer is currently used by over 25,000 employers who, in addition to sports cards, also use the company’s other products, i.e. the MyBenefit cafeteria and the MultiLife Programme, focusing on the wellbeing and development of employees. We are gradually developing our offer, focusing on availability, freedom of choice, adaptation to individual needs and the possibilities resulting from the development of technology. Therefore, we plan to further develop products and their offer in the field of employee wellbeing and HR support tools as well as investments in IT solutions.

Foreign Countries Segment

At the end of December 2024, there was a total of 572,000 sports cards active on foreign markets. In the first two months of this year the number of cards grew to 594,000, which is an increase of 115,000 year-on-year. The initial revenues of the Foreign Countries Segment in the fourth quarter of last year amounted to PLN 249.4 million, which means an increase of 23% year-on-year. Currently, the Benefit Systems Group has 79 fitness clubs (19 new clubs in the fourth quarter of 2024: 2 clubs taken over in Croatia, new openings: 4 facilities in the Czech Republic, 3 in Slovakia, 9 in Bulgaria, 1 in Croatia).
