Benefit Systems with record results for 2024

Benefit Systems Group ended 2024 with record operating and financial results – the number of active MultiSport cards exceeded 2.16 million, and the group’s revenues increased by 22% year-on-year, reaching nearly PLN 3.4 billion. The past year was also marked by the largest foreign expansion in the company’s history and the dynamic development of the fitness club network, the number of which amounted to 325 at the end of the year, including 82 outside Poland. In 2025, the group plans to further develop its operational and product activities, including through the development of tools supporting employee wellbeing and the acquisition of the Turkish MAC Group.

Benefit Systems Group’s revenues increased by 22% in 2024 to PLN 3,397 million, and operating profit (excluding the impact of the incentive programme) was 31% higher compared to 2023 and amounted to PLN 715 million. At the end of 2024, despite the record dividend payment, the group had PLN 153 million of net cash.

Benefit Systems published its preliminary financial results for 2024 on 19 February this year. Marcin Fojudzki, Management Board Member at Benefit Systems, commented on the record year, drawing attention to the effectiveness of the adopted and implemented strategy: “We have had a good quarter and year, which we ended with results above expectations. Initial data shows that our strategy guarantees the group dynamic development and increasing profits. This year we expect further improvement in results in all operating segments. We are also working on a bond programme to increase the availability of financing for the development of a network of our own fitness clubs in Poland and other markets. We plan to open dozens of new facilities, including over 45 abroad. We also intend to continue analysing markets for acquisition opportunities.”

At the end of 2024, there were 1,592,000 sports card holders. The revenues of the Poland Segment amounted to PLN 2,474.6 million, which is an increase of 24.7% compared to 2023. The EBITDA ratio amounted to PLN 904 million, increasing by 36.2% compared to the previous year. At the end of last year, the group’s portfolio in Poland included 243 fitness clubs. In total, in 2024, the company expanded its own network by 25 locations: 15 clubs as part of the acquisition (Active Point (currently Fabryka Formy): 1 club, Good Luck (currently Zdrofit): 4 clubs, Artis: 1 club, Gym World: 1 club, Organic Fitness: 8 clubs) and openings: in Warsaw (5 locations), Krakow (3 locations), two clubs in Katowice and Lublin, and one in Łódź. MultiSport Programme partners currently run over 5,500 sports and recreation facilities throughout the country.

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, a total of 571,900 sports cards were active on foreign markets. The revenues of the Foreign Countries Segment amounted to PLN 922.9 million last year, which means an increase of 16.8% year-on-year. The profit from operating activities amounted to PLN 104.3 million. Currently, Benefit Systems Group has 82 fitness clubs (19 new clubs in Q4 2024: 2 clubs acquired in Croatia, new openings: 4 facilities in the Czech Republic, 3 in Slovakia, 9 in Bulgaria, 1 in Croatia).

Sustainability

In 2024, Benefit Systems Group continued to implement its ESG commitments, in line with the #BETTER_LIFE 2024–2026 ESG Strategy (BenefitSystems_Strategia_ESG_22.07_FINAL.pdf) and the highest standards externally confirmed by the B-Corp certificate. This year’s Benefit Systems Capital Group Sustainability Report was prepared for the first time in accordance with the requirements of the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). A key element of the reporting process was the dual materiality analysis, which enabled the identification of areas that were most significant both in terms of the group’s impact on its environment and the impact of external factors on the organisation’s operations. On this basis, significant impacts, risks and opportunities (IROs) were mapped and the associated policies, measures, actions and objectives were defined. Including this data in the report is an important step towards a transparent, structured approach to sustainability reporting that is compliant with EU standards.

In the opening letter of the report, the Management Board emphasised, in the context of ESG, the constant pursuit of a balance between economic efficiency and social and ecological responsibility: “We consistently implement numerous pro-ecological and pro-social initiatives that are consistent with the goals of our strategy for 2025–2027. In 2024, we implemented several projects aimed at physical and sports activation of school-age children, but also adults, including seniors. The MultiSport Foundation has covered almost 73,000 students with its activities as part of MultiSport classes with elements of corrective and compensatory gymnastics and over 11,000 school-age children as part of ‘Active MultiSport Schools’”.
